Community

Models for a Cause is an opportunity for those models participating in Midwest Fashion Week to volunteer in their community by working with local non-profit organizations.

Our past fashion show models worked with Riley Children's Foundation, Ambassadors For Children and Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.

Read about our models' experiences:

Morgan

MorganI am thrilled that I had the opportunity to be involved in such a worthwhile cause at the silent auction. I love to volunteer, but the opportunity isn't always so easy to come by. The auction items covered a variety of interests. The decor and atmosphere was very elegant. The crowd added to the ambience with pretty dresses and friendly smiles. The food was equally impressive.

It was my job to model the mink coat auction item. It was sold at $3300 that will benefit breast cancer related issues. The best part of the evening was seeing everyone come together all in the name of charity. I'm proud to say that I chose to do something that may make a difference.

Samantha

Samantha I volunteered at the Toast to Breast Cancer Cocktail Party. It was a rewarding experience. I monitored a silent auction table. I had the opportunity to socialize with wonderful people, met numerous breast cancer survivors and spoke with them about their tragic experiences.

One memorable lady I spoke to had a rare type of cancer that was undetectable through standard procedures. She was completely devastated because she was following correct screenings.

That was just one of the experiences I learned about. I was glad to be involved with such a great cause.

Shaneka

Shaneka My experience working with the Y-Me Breast Cancer Organization was great. I enjoyed meeting people who were working for a great cause. I am definitely looking forward to continually help in their endevors to fight breast cancer.

Having supported my aunt, Lucille, a survivor of breast cancer, I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication. The sincerity and sensitivy of the organization is amazing. I am so privaleged to have worked with the Y-Me Breast Cancer Organization.
